Face Mask Hacks: How to get Best of it

There are several beauty recipes that we have been told about.  There are several face masks that we know are good for skin. But do we know how can we make those very effective face masks even more effective? Here I am sharing a few points by following which you can get more of your heavenly face masks

Face should be Clean

Everyone knows that, right? But let’s understand why. At any point of time, our face has a layer of sebum and dirt. Pores also remain clogged by dirt and sebum. So if our face is not properly clean, there will be a barrier between our skin and face mask and thus the skin will not be able to properly absorb the nutrients from the face mask.

So, the skin and pores must be thoroughly clean.

Face mask should stay Wet for as long as possible

For absorption of anything across any membrane, a liquid media is required. This means, nutrients from the face mask are absorbed only till it is wet. So keep it wet till long. To achieve this, make the paste thin (just thick enough to not to drip). Also, apply a thick layer on face so that it stays wet for long.

Skin should be Damp and Hydrated

Absorption takes place better through hydrated skin. To hydrate your skin, splash your face with water, but do not wipe. Apply face mask after 5-10 minutes, when the skin is just damp. Alternatively, you can apply a lot of rose water or cucumber water, and then apply face mask after 5 minutes.

Let your Face Mask sit for 30 minutes before applying

As I’ve mentioned earlier that the absorption of the nutrients takes place through the liquid media, so after you mix your powder ingredients with the liquid, let it sit for 30 minutes; let the nutrients from the powders seep into the liquid.

Never use Plain Water

To make the paste of face mask, it is not a wise idea to use the plain water. Use something that your skin needs, like milk, yogurt, tomato juice etc. Why to miss the chance of giving your skin something extra. Also, as the liquid is what will make everything absorbed, it itself should be nutritious.

Exfoliate while Removing

While you remove your face mask, don’t just remove it. Dampen up the dried face mask and rub it like a scrub. This will exfoliate the skin very well because the dead skin is very soft at this point of time.

Be Consistent

To see results, consistency is the only key. Even a simple mixture of gram flour and yogurt will give you results if you use it regularly. Whatever you choose, use it regularly for at least 30-40 days before you expect visible results (and you surely will see results).
